Clear braces, or “tooth colored” braces, are ceramic brackets made of composite materials. They are very strong and generally do not stain. The bands that hold the archwire on to the ceramic brackets are often white, clear or colors if you so desire. The clear bands can stain if you do not take proper care of them. Your orthodontist will review with you what you should and shouldn’t eat to avoid any unnecessary staining. Although the bands are changed monthly, you won’t have to live with it long.
